Melinda requires a birthday present - certainly a decent one worthy of her, however, right now, my mind is so fixated on providing support for Ella and ensuring she does not deny the reality of her brother's death anniversary impending in only a matter of a couple of days that I can't think of anything even remotely decent.

Ella's got this idea in her head that redecorating my house is her new purpose in life. Whilst she has good taste, I'm still rather uncomfortable about the whole thing. I just don't know how to tell her that I'd rather she didn't. I haven't seen her this spirited in a long time.

It's all very well for the management of the Magpies to throw a non-profit benefit of some sort in the hopes of both raising money and the generous profile of the team. But perhaps they should consider whom it is they wish to benefit first before going into details of the proposed guest list.
Either way, keep the 1st of March penciled in your diaries.
